The inaugural International Space Summit Africa (ISSA) – set to be held in South Africa from June 2 to 4, 2026 – will focus on the upstream and downstream space sector linkages between African space entrepreneurs, innovators and business startups, as well as foreign space solutions providers and buyers.

Hosted by international trade fairs organiser GBM Fairs and South African social tourism impact advocacy company Hauweng, ISSA 2026 will convene 500 delegates, of which 60% will be domestic and the remaining 40% international; 30 curated buyers; as well as facilitate 3 000 targeted business meetings, according to Hauweng MD Beulah Mosupye.

ISSA 2026 will be held at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research’s International Convention Centre, in Pretoria.

The summit is intended to leverage domestic and African opportunities in space technology and satellite infrastructure from innovation-led industries, the organisers add.

Valued at more than R350-billion in 2020, ISSA organisers forecast that the Africa’s space industry is projected to “eclipse R400-billion by next year”.
